- The sargassum fish are typically found in marine waters with a depth of 35.3 feet. They spend most of their lives living among floating sargassum algae beds. They can also be seen in inshore environments after storms.

- Found in tropical and subtropical waters around the world. The Indian Ocean from the tip of South Africa over to Australia and New Zealand. Additionally they are found in the Western Atlantic from Maine to Uruguay.
Conservation Efforts:
The sargassum fish has a healthy wild population and is not endangered. However, efforts are underway to preserve and manage the Sargassum beds they rely on.
