Dear CMA Supporters,
Since we closed our doors to the public on March 16, Clearwater Marine Aquarium has continued our work to care for, rescued, rehabilitated and released marine life. In fact, during this time we have released two green sea turtles, Small Fry and Maggie Mae, and also gained seven new sea turtle hospital patients.
One of the rescue calls our team responded to was for a juvenile green sea turtle named Gus. Gus was found floating and lethargic offshore in the Hudson area of Pasco County. Upon intake, Gus was in critical condition and had to be tube-fed twice a day. After a week under our treatment, Gus was finally able to swim for the first time and today, I’m happy to report that Gus is doing very well under our care and improving each day. Learn more about Gus here.
While we continue to be closed to the public, we invite you to explore CMA through our social channels, personalized video interactions, and online learning tools. When we are able to re-open, rest assured that we will do everything in our power to ensure our guests, staff, and animals are safe and having FUN while learning about our working marine life hospital.
It is because of the support from our donors and friends that we are able to continue our animal care work. On this Giving Tuesday, I would like to thank you for your support. If you can continue to support us through TeamCMA.org, it would be truly appreciated.
For now, stay home and stay safe. We cannot wait to welcome you back to Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Remember, you are a crucial part of #TeamCMA and we cannot do our work without your support.
With my deepest gratitude and hope for brighter days,
Frank Dame
Clearwater Marine Aquarium CEO
